Preparation of Sendai Virus to Induce Human Leukocyte Interferon

Abstract
|
|
|
To produce Sendai virus for induction of a-interferon (α-IFN), Sendai virus (Cantell´s strain, 10,000 hemagglutinin units (HAU/ml) was injected into the allantoic cavity of 11 day-old fertile hens’ eggs. After inoculating 100, 300, 1000 or 2000 HAU/0.2ml into the eggs, the hemagglutinin (HA) titre was checked daily.
The highest titre was shown from the eggs inoculated with 2000 HAU/0.2m1, and cultured for 3days at 37°C.
Difference in α-IFN productivity of Sendai virus made in Flow laboratory (USA) and the virus made in our laboratory was not significant (P>0.1).
